Providence
St. Peter Hospital Emergency Center
Olympia, Washington
The nearly 65,000 patients who visit Providence
St. Peter Hospital for emergency care each year now enjoy
more privacy,
comfort and efficiency, thanks to its new, state-of-the-art
emergency center. The 25,000-square-foot center features:
39 private treatment rooms; six cardiac and stroke rooms;
two trauma rooms; four women’s health rooms; three
private triage/registration rooms; two cast rooms; two ENT
rooms; a crisis services (mental health) unit; and a rooftop
helipad. A computer system helps track the number of patients
waiting, where each receives treatment and the length of
each visit. “It’s a wonderful addition to the
community,” says hospital spokesperson Deborah Shawver. “It’s
a relief to have the space to care for all our patients.” Providence
St. Peter Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation’s
100 Top Hospitals for cardiology, orthopedics and stroke
care. In early 2007, Airlift Northwest will open a base at
Olympia Airport and will be working even more closely with
Providence St. Peter Hospital.
